Convention Center of the Americas
A major focal point of San Juan is its new, state-of-the-art Puerto Rico Convention Center - an architecturally dynamic structure that recalls the shapes and colors of the Caribbean in an elegant, modern style. Designed to accommodate groups of 2,500 to 10,000 attendees, the new Convention Center; the largest in the Caribbean features more than 580,000 square feet (53,882 sq m) of event space. And, as part of a 113-acre urban development project - known as the Convention Center District - the surrounding area offers everything meeting planners expect from a top-notch destination.
The Puerto Rico Convention Center has 152,000 square feet in the Exhibit Hall, Ballrooms for Plenary with a capacity of 3,290 seats, 14,000 square feet, 27 Break-out rooms with a capacity of 60 seats each. In addition, we will have several break-out rooms at the Sheraton, Condado Plaza and Caribe Hilton hotels.
The Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, the oldest convention bureau in the Caribbean with more than 42 years of experience, is the official marketing and sales agent for the new Puerto Rico Convention Center. The award winning Bureau also provides all the services meeting planners need to hold a memorable meeting or event.

IUPAC Divisions, Standing Committees and Bureau Meetings - University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus Facilities
The University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus will provide fifty rooms for Bureau, Division and Standing Committees Meetings with capacity to up to fifty (50) each. The University will also provide two auditorium rooms with capacity of four hundred (400) seats.
The University will also provide space for staff working offices and dormitory facilities for young scholars awardees and young investigators. The University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus is the largest University of Puerto Rico with about 25,000 student body. The University is located in the Metropolitan Area about 15 minutes bus ride from the Convention Center and the Hotel area. Bases will be provide to transport the delegates from the Convention Center to the University free of charge.
